VIEWS OF THE NORTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY IN OREGON

Lois and I have been enjoying the summer in McMinnville, Oregon in the heart of the Willamette Valley wine region.  It is an area of extraordinary beauty and variety and we are surrounded by over 400 wineries and other extensive agricultural areas.  It has been a relatively cool and dry summer but the rainy season is coming and we will be heading back to Puerto Vallarta for the winter in a few weeks.  Below are some photos of this exceptional area I wanted to share with you.  Hope you enjoy them.  CLICK ON ANY PHOTO FOR A LARGER VIEW.

STORM SURGE FROM HURRICANE BLANCA - June 7, 2015

Went out for our usual morning walk along the Banderas Bay and we were surprised by the devastation from the storm surge of Hurricane Blanca.  According to people who were there Saturday night, the high waves started around 10:30 pm on and started to get very nasty around 11:00 pm.  We were home asleep (4 blocks from the beach) and had no idea of the damage occurring until we went for our walk at 7:00 am on Sunday morning.  These photos will give you an idea of what occurred.  The eye of the storm was some 800 miles off shore.  One thing to keep in mind:  "Don't Mess With Mother Nature".
